Don't Say I'm not Good To You Guys

The Horrors

"The Horrors are a five-piece garage rock band who formed in the summer of 2005. They released their debut album Strange House on March 5 of 2007. Strange House reached #37 on the UK charts. They have polarised opinion in the popular music scene by their unusual choice of apparel and obscure musical inspirations. Their influences are presented profoundly in their own music, which has been described as a hybrid of The Birthday Party and The Cramps."

Bit like marmite The Horrors are. You either love them or hate them. Thankfully I'm a lover, especially after I caught them at the Glasgow ABC where they totally ruled the stage (and the audience!). Signed to the fantastic Loog records their debut "Strange House" is an awesome garage-punk gem in a sea of generic indie bands. Find it and buy it!

Foals

"Foals are an English indie band, based in Brighton but originally from the Oxford area. The five-piece group are known through extensive live playing around Great Britain for its mix of indie with elements from techno and math rock. The band has signed with Transgressive Records, and played a number of shows at the 2007 SXSW festival in Austin, Texas."

Amazing band to dance around to and very technical aswell. One to watch for the future.

At The Drive-In

"At the Drive-In was an American band from El Paso, Texas that existed from 1993 to 2001.During their short but influential career, At the Drive-In crafted musically complex songs laced with cryptic and strongly metaphoric lyrics. Influenced equally by hardcore music as by the likes of Pink Floyd and The Smiths, the band was founded in 1993 by guitarist Jim Ward and vocalist Cedric Bixler-Zavala"

I should'nt really have to say anymore about this band as they are one of the greatest things to happen to music. After they broke up members of the band went on to form two more great bands, Sparta and The Mars Volta. Go out and buy all their records...you wont be dissapointed

glassJAw

"Glassjaw (sometimes written glassJAw) is a four-piece band (formerly a five-piece) from Long Island, New York. The band is fronted by vocalist Daryl Palumbo and guitarist Justin Beck, and has undergone numerous line-up changes since their inception. The exact style of music Glassjaw can be considered to have taken inspiration from, but not limited to: Bad Brains, Snapcase, Mike Patton, Refused and fellow New York notables Anthrax, Silent Majority and Vision of Disorder."

glassJAw are a post-hardcore band fronted by the great Daryl Palumbo. Having just reunited (they never left really) I decided to post these demos I found awhile back. In these you can clearly hear the influence they have from ATD-I as Palumbo's lyrics sometimes infuse with ATD-I's own. Wether he was taking the piss or not we'll probably never know but it sounds damn good XD
