Subtitle - Young Dangerous Heart

Young Dangerous Heart is the first full length album by Los Angeles based rapper, Subtitle, released in 2005.

At the moment I've been going through quite the hip-hop phase(aswell as a hardcore-punk one but the two seem to fit well together anyway).I cant say I was ever really that much of a hip-hop fan until I heard A Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory". I've always had a hatred of the 50 Cent/Snoop Dogg style of rap, that gangster tinged mainstream tosh but ATCQ blew me away and showed it wasnt all bad.

Enter Subtitle, the rapper/producer who is well known for his production and collabarations with various artists from different genres. Subtitles (real name Giovanni Marks)solo work, however, is just as good as any of the work he has done. I've been listening to his 2005 album "Young Dangerous Heart" on repeat for pretty much the last three days. It's an amzing record...one of those pieces of music that you know when the first track kicks-in, you know your in for something special. Subtitles lyrics are smart and quick and he uses various beats to keep songs like "Gio-Graph-Ick" stuck in your head for days.Anyways I guarantee you'll love this record if you have an open mind about music so go hunt it down. And if you want more convincing, try the tracks I've uploaded to get a feel for the album.

I'm hoping for a new mixtape for the next post but I dont have a clue when I'll be able to get that done so keep checking back here for more updates!

Busy Month

So I haven't done a post since my Mixtape which was a while back now mainly as I've been at College studying Music Tech and been a bit busy but hopefully there should be a proper new post by the end of the week or the start of next week. Right now my time is being divided up between college, getting into town with my mate, reading Rules Of Attraction ( I would recommend it), learning RATM songs, trying to watch my Beloved Detroit Tigers at 1am in the morning, watching my beloved Rangers get beat 4-2 ( :[ )and a few other annoying, but time consuming, things.Anyways, I'll end this post with a video of Rage playing Woodstock '99 since I'm in abit of a RATM mood...enjoy!

Boredoms - Chocolate Synthesizer

"Boredoms is an avant-garde rock band from Osaka, Japan. The band was officially formed in 1986, although some date the band to bedroom tape experiments beginning in 1982. Their varied output is difficult to pigeonhole, but is usually referred to as noise rock or sometimes Japanoise, though their more recent records have been largely based around repetitive minimalism, ambient music and tribal drumming.

The band has a vast and sometimes confusing discography. Many band members have rotated through the group over the years, often using a number of various stage names. Singer Yamantaka Eye is the closest they have to a frontman; his style includes a range of baffling screams, babbling, electronic effects and very heavy post-production. Drummer/singer/trumpeter Yoshimi P-We has been featured on many Boredoms recordings as well."

Now onto one of my favourite bands.Crazy is the best word to describe them. I fell in love with them after hearing them in the Ichi The Killer Soundtrack. All I can say is that you should try this album espescially if you like noise rock or screamo stuff...You'll definetly enjoy it!

Cat Power Live In Dc

So I've already explained that I love everything Chan Marshall has done. This is a set I found awhile ago of her playing Live at the 9.30 Club in DC. It's great quality and studded with great songs aswell as some covers (Crazy and House Of The Rising Sun etc). The only fault I have with this gig is the lack of her old songs...
